HERMES Open Colloquium
This video collection features recordings from the HERMES Open Colloquium, an online format hosted by the data competence centre HERMES - Humanities Education in Research, Data, and Methods, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). HERMES is a joint initiative of nine partner institutions from Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate and promotes data literacy in the humanities and cultural sciences. HERMES addresses the need for training, further education and practice-orientated advice in the field of data literacy in humanities and cultural studies research and teaching as well as in GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) institutions.
The HERMES Open Colloquium presents keynote talks in German and English by experts from the Digital Humanities and the GLAM sector. The sessions offer insights into current research, practical approaches to cultural heritage data, and the application of digital methods. The series is organised by the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz and the Technical University Darmstadt, and encourages discussion and knowledge exchange across disciplines and institutions.
